The chairman Dr. Zeno Bisoffi is happy to mention that this Congress is raising a growing interest and is becoming more and more of a joint venture:
eight of the National Societies belonging to the European Federation FESTMIH are already scheduled to organize workshops/round tables. Moreover, another European Society, the ESCMID, will hold two workshops jointly with the FESTMIH. 
The European Commission, W.H.O./T.D.R., the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs, the Cochrane Infectious Diseases Group, the Journal Tropical Medicine and International Health, the Italian Global Health Watch, the Volkswagen Foundation and the German Development Agency are also organizing sessions, and other organizations are still joining.
